Our Story

With connections to the food and hospitality industry (being a chef by trade), and realizing how fragile the food system has become to disruptions, it only made sense to give thought to a shortened food supply chain, to advocate for pollinator health, and engage in a circular economy that strengthens community through the multiplier effect. Considering this, it is a not so far fetched notion that urban beekeeping can be beneficial on a number of levels - from the environment, promoting not only honey bee health but wild bees and pollinators in general, to invigorating the local food supply chain, and the local economy. It can be said "Cities can feed cities".

Our award winning honey has been recognized as some of the best in Canada. We are a small, hands-on operation located in Toronto that produce at-source, small batch, truly hyper-local honey. From hand uncapping to hand cranking a centrifugal extractor, no heat, additives, or manipulations are necessary for this unique, natural and shelf stable product. Interestingly enough, honey is the only food produced by insects for human consumption (other than insects themselves). There is no need to mess with what nature already provides
